The Second Amendment and the Puerto Rico Weapons Act of 2020

Puerto Rico Lawyers Chapter

The Puerto Rico Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society invites you to its second event of the year, a cocktail and dinner reception at the Hard Rock Cafe in Condado, featuring Supreme Court Litigator and Georgetown Adjunct Law Professor Alan Gura, who will reflect on recent Second Amendment trends. Drawing from his litigation victories in the landmark cases of District of Columbia v. Heller and McDonald v. Chicago, he also will put the recently enacted Puerto Rico Weapons Act of 2020 into the broader context of the Second Amendment.

Join us for a provocative discussion on the Second Amendment from the attorney who litigated what are probably the most important Second Amendment decisions of our lifetimes. The event will be divided in two segments. The CLE will begin at 7:30 pm and end at 8:30 pm or later (cash bar with happy hour will open at 6:30 pm). Following that, there will be a networking reception (cash bar with happy hour) until 10:00 pm or later.

Approved attendees will receive 1 hour of general Puerto Rico CLE credits. The price of the CLE ticket includes an appetizer (wings or salad), a main course (churrasco, mac & cheese with chicken, or grilled salmon), water, sodas, coffee and dessert. All applicable Eventbrite service charges and fees as well as gratuities, taxes, and a $3 per-participant, per-credit fee set by the Puerto Rico Supreme Court's Continuing Legal Education Program are included. Tickets available online only (exclusively through Eventbrite).

Tickets will not be sold at the door.
