John Eastman, chairman of the Federalist Society's Federalism & Separation of Powers practice group, will provide a preview of some of the more interesting constitutional cases on the docket for the Supreme Court's October 2010 term, in the context of long-term constitutional law trends at the Court and the significance of recent retirements and confirmations. John Eastman is the Donald P. Kennedy Chair in Law at Chapman University School of Law and was Dean from 2007 until 2010. He is also Director of the Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence, a public interest law firm affiliated with the Claremont Institute that he founded in 1999. Before entering academia, Dr. Eastman served as a law clerk to Justice Clarence Thomas and practiced law with the national law firm of Kirkland & Ellis.
