Evan Young is the Department Chair of Litigation in the Austin office of Baker Botts. He has argued before the Supreme Court of the United States, the Supreme Court of Texas, and at every level of the state and federal judiciary. Prior to joining Baker Botts, Mr. Young served as Counsel to Attorneys General Alberto R. Gonzales and Michael B. Mukasey, where he was detailed to the United States Embassy in Baghdad as the Deputy Rule of Law Coordinator.

Mr. Young is a 1999 graduate of Duke University, summa cum laude, a 2001 graduate of Oxford University, Marshall Scholar, and a 2004 graduate of Yale Law School. Following law school, Mr. Young served as a law clerk to Judge J. Harvie Wilkinson III of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and then to Justice Antonin Scalia of the Supreme Court of the United States.

Mr. Young is a frequent CLE speaker on appellate matters and the author of numerous publications, speeches, and presentations on Supreme Court litigation.
