Lunch Discussion with Judge Alice Batchelder

Judge Batchelder has served in the federal judiciary for 36 years. She was appointed to the U.S. bankruptcy court for the Northern District of Ohio in 1983, was elevated to the federal district court in 1985, and then to the federal court of appeals in 1992. She served as Chief Judge for the Sixth Circuit from 2009 to 2014, and was considered by President George W. Bush to succeed Justice O’Connor on the U.S. Supreme Court. Her husband, William Batchelder, served for 30 years in the Ohio House of Representatives, including as Speaker of the House from 2011 to 2014.
