Manny Klausner, General Counsel to the Individual Rights Foundation, and founder of Reason Magazine will be with us on December 6th, 2013 to discuss the case of Schuette v. Coalition to Defend Affirmative Action, which was argued before the U.S. Supreme Court last month. The case concerns a Michigan constitutional amendment to ban racial preferences in college admissions. The constitutional amendment was passed by Michigan voters in 2006, in part as a response to the U.S. Supreme Court's 2003 decision in Gratz v. Bollinger, another affirmative action in education case, and has been challenged in the courts by those who would argue that states cannot make and enforce laws that mirror the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
