The Federalist Paper, November 2011We are pleased to bring you the fall issue of The Federalist Paper. Inside, as always, we review the many programs and publications the Federalist Society has sponsored through its various divisions and special projects over the past months.

In June, the Boston Lawyers Chapter once again invoked the Bard as a starting point for an enlightening exchange on important legal concepts in its annual “Shakespeare and the Law” program, this year featuring a performance and discussion of “The Merchant of Venice” by members of the Massachusetts state and federal judiciary. Over 400 people attended the program. Other Lawyers and Student Chapters hosted discussions with prominent legal experts on issues ranging from the health care litigation to national security and civil liberties issues in light of the tenth anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

The Federalist Society will host its annual National Lawyers Convention at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C. from November 10 through November 12. The theme of this year’s Convention is “The Constitution of Small Government?” The Society will continue its progress with its alumni relations initiative at the Convention, hosting breakfasts for alumni from Catholic, Chicago, Columbia, George Mason, Georgetown, Harvard, Michigan, NYU, Stanford, Vanderbilt, Virginia, and Yale. As always, we invite and encourage friends and members to send in comments and suggestions—and look forward to hearing from you!
