Recent years have seen several changes in the membership of the Supreme Court of the United States. The Court's decisions on a wide range of issues continue to affect the lives of citizens throughout the nation. On the first day of the Court's October 2008 term, and with a new president entering the White House, what does the future hold for the Court? Our speaker, the Honorable David M. McIntosh, will provide comments on
"The Future of the Supreme Court." As a law student at the University of Chicago in 1982, Mr. McIntosh was a co-founder of the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies. His extensive government experience includes stints in both the Reagan and the first Bush administration. From 1995 through 2001, Mr. McIntosh represented Indiana's Second Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is currently a Partner with the Mayer Brown law firm in Washington, D.C.
