Please join the Maine Lawyer Chapter for a sailing adventure, including a casual lunch and a roundup of notable decisions from the 2025-2026 Supreme Court Term. We will sail Casco Bay from Bailey Island (actual ship pictured below). Judge Danny J. Boggs of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit will lead the discussion.
Venue: The Schooner ALERT, sailing from 68 Garrison Cove, Bailey Island, ME 04003
Members: $45
Non-Members: $65
Additional details:
We will sail Casco Bay from Bailey Island on a classic two-mast schooner. A box lunch (half-sandwich, salad, and cookie) and beverages (including water, sodas, beer, wine, and hard seltzers) will be provided. The ship has a toilet below deck (requires descending a ladder-like set of stairs to access). Feel free to bring friends and family -- all are welcome -- but advance registration is required. Please arrive by 11:15 a.m. and meet in the parking lot of Cook's Ale House. We will walk from the parking lot down to the ship as a group. Once on board, following a safety demonstration, we will motor out into Casco Bay, hoist the sails (you may participate!), and then cut off the engines. Kyle will saber Champagne, we will distribute lunch, and we will then begin the Supreme Court roundup. Please contact Kyle Singhal at mainefedsoc@gmail.com with any dietary restrictions, mobility restrictions, or questions.
