Recently, the United States Supreme Court heard oral arguments in Hollingsworth v. Perry and United States v. Windsor, two cases challenging laws that define the institution of marriage as between one man and one woman. The plaintiffs in both cases argue that the government's refusal to recognize same-sex marriage violates their Due Process and Equal Protection Rights.

Ilya Shapiro of the Cato Institute will be joining the Triangle Federalist Society to provide his analysis of these cases. Mr. Shapiro is a senior fellow in constitutional studies at the Cato Institute and editor-in-chief of the Cato Supreme Court Review. Mr. Shapiro authored an amicus brief on behalf of the Cato Institute in both Windsor and Hollingsworth.

The price is $10 for dues paying members of the Federalist Society and $20 for non-members. The admission price includes lunch. You may also sign up for one hour of North Carolina CLE Credit (approval pending).
