Does the Intelligence Community Have the Tools Needed to Win the War on Terrorism?
International & National Security Law Practice Group Teleforum
It has been fourteen years since 9/11. In that time, the USA PATRIOT act was passed, giving the intelligence community surveillance authority under section 215. This year, Congress eliminated that authority. Formerly, high level al Qaeda operators were captured and provided critical intelligence. Now, terrorists are more likely to be killed than captured. Senator Saxby Chambliss, a former member of both the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, will join us for a Teleforum to discuss these issues and the broader question of whether our intelligence operators have what is needed to defeat al Qaeda, ISIS, and other terrorist organizations that threaten U.S. interests.
