Speaker:

  • Roger Clegg - President and General Counsel of the Center for Equal Opportunity
A few years ago, Roger Clegg spoke with our chapter about Fisher v. University of Texas, a case in which the constitutionality of that school's use of racial admission preferences was being challenged and was then before the Supreme Court. The justices threw out the lower court's decision upholding the preferences and remanded the case. Now, the case is once again before
Supreme Court, and so Mr. Clegg is returning. He will discuss developments in this area over the past two years, and what to expect from the Court later this term in Fisher II.

Roger Clegg is President and General Counsel of the Center for Equal Opportunity. Mr. Clegg has held a number of positions at the U.S. Department of Justice, including Assistant to the Solicitor General, where he argued three cases before the United States Supreme Court, and Deputy Assistant Attorney General of the Civil Rights Division.
