A Tavern Debate - Resolved: End Crony Capitalism!

A Tavern Debate - Resolved: End Crony Capitalism!

Should success in business depend on close relationships between business people and government officials? Is legislation favoring certain industries, businesses, or individuals a natural and reasonable result of the Constitutional right to petition and of representative government? Or, are regulations, incentive programs, tax breaks, tax penalties, and other government policies – adopted to favor the cronies of those in government – an evil that actually corrupts free enterprise capitalism? Are representative government and the laissez faire policies of free enterprise capitalism complementary, or are they inherently incompatible? What say you? Come join the debate!

As always, this tavern debate is an audience participation event, with potential speakers (a/k/a attendees) being provided food and a variety of libations for almost any taste or temperament.
