• The Texas Supreme Court ordered the Houston City Council to place its LGBT non-discrimination ordinance on the ballot or to repeal it, in compliance with the city charter's referendum procedures. Voters gathered signatures to prompt this review. After initial acceptance by the City Secretary, the City Attorney determined that many of the signatures were invalid.
