Sectoral collective bargaining is a system in which labor unions bargain collective agreements that cover all workers in an industry, whether they wish to be a part of a union or not. While that system is common in Europe, it is not in the United States, where collective agreements are usually negotiated with single employers.

But recently, some conservative populists have suggested that sectoral bargaining should be utilized in the United States. In October, Jace White of the National Right to Work Committee published a response to those suggestions in National Review. Read the whole thing.
