Matt Cavedon, the young man in this picture, is a 2015 graduate of Emory Law School who was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia on November 3, 2015. Matt introduced himself to me at the Federalist Society convention last November at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington. He had with him the necessary papers for admission the Georgia Court of Appeals, plus he knew that Judge Steve Dillard of the Court of Appeals was at the convention. Britt Grant (Solicitor General of Georgia) and I signed Matt’s application. Matt located Judge Dillard, who administered the oath to Matt as the newest member of the bar of the Court of Appeals of Georgia. Britt and I are pictured with Matt and Judge Dillard.
Matt is currently a Constitutional Scholar at the Institute for Justice in Arlington, VA. In August 2016, Matt will begin a federal court clerkship in Brunswick, GA with Chief Judge Lisa Godbey Wood of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia.
