Jon Caldara is the President of the Independence Institute, a free-market think tank based in Golden. Mr. Caldara also hosts a radio talk show on 850 KOA and a current affairs television program on Denver's PBS Station Channel 12 KBDI. Mr. Caldara also writes a column for the Boulder Daily Camera.

Caldara is a veteran of many issue campaigns, including the 1998 defeat of Referendum B, the 2000 campaign against Amendment 23, the 2001 defeat of a monorail system, and the 2005 opposition campaign against Colorado Referendums C and D.

5280 Magazine has named Mr. Caldara one of the top 10 most influential men in Denver, Westword awarded him Denver's Best Media Manipulator, the Denver Post put Caldara on their list of people to watch, the Colorado Jaycees awarded him as the Outstanding Young Coloradoan, and the State Policy Network honored him in 2005 with the Thomas Roe Award.
