The Supreme Court in 2020: A Conversation with John Bursch

Jefferson City Lawyers Chapter - Online Event

Please join the Missouri Federalist Society chapters for a can't-miss event: a conversation about the Supreme Court with top SCOTUS advocate, John Bursch. Formerly Michigan's Solicitor General, John argued this term for the funeral home petitioner in the landmark Bostock decision, which held that TItle VII protects against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and transgender status in employment. John will discuss the case as well as other high-profile cases of the term, including the blockbuster cases involving religious liberty, school choice, abortion, immigration, the President's tax returns, Indian country in Oklahoma, and the Second Amendment. We will also speak with John about his experience arguing landmark cases in past terms, such as Obergefell v. Hodges. The conversation will be moderated by Missouri's Deputy Solicitor General, Julie Marie Blake.

Featuring:

  • John Bursch - Former Solicitor General of Michigan
  • Julie Marie Blake (Moderator)- Deputy Solicitor General of Missouri
