During the next four years, there likely will be one to three vacancies on the United States Supreme Court. The panel will explore the importance of the respective roles of the President and Congress in the nomination and confirmation of judges. The panelists will consider: What is the proper role of the courts in American politics? How has judicial philosophy influenced that role in the past, and how might it in the future? And what might be the role of judicial philosophy on the nominations process in the next administration?
