The Future of Free Speech in Public Schools

Please join the Sacramento Lawyers Chapter for a discussion featuring guest speaker Timothy Sandefur and moderator Anastasia Boden.

 

As society has become increasingly intolerant to opposing viewpoints, so too have public schools begun creating an environment of conformity in the classroom. From compelling students to adopt views on hotly contested issues, to schools trying to hide their curricula from parents, to loyalty oaths at public universities, Goldwater Institute’s Timothy Sandefur will discuss threats to the First Amendment and the legislation and lawsuits aimed at vindicating the right to speak and think freely.
