Peace Through States: Serbia/Kosovo Reconciliation and EU Membership

The Federalist Society hosts Prof. Sean Murphy and Mr. Stephen Rademaker for a discussion on the definition of statehood and the situation in the Balkans, where the United States and European Union are brokering reconciliation peace deals as the former territories of Yugoslavia progress toward membership in the European Union. Prof. Murphy teaches at The George Washington University Law School, and previously served as legal counselor at the U.S. Embassy in The Hague, arguing several cases before the International Court of Justice and representing the U.S. government in matters before the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. Mr. Rademaker is Senior Of Counsel at Covington, and previously served as an Assistant Secretary of State as well as Senior Counsel and Policy Director for National Security Affairs for Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN).
