Speaker:

Hiram Sasser - Director of Litigation, Liberty Institute

Topic: Religious Freedom in America

The First Amendment to the Constitution protects the free exercise of religion, but the scope of this right is often hotly disputed. Hiram Sasser is the managing director for strategic litigation at Liberty Institute, the country’s largest legal organization dedicated solely to defending and restoring religious liberty in America. With an unprecedented track record (a 90% win rate), Mr. Sasser will share strategic insight into the most serious challenges to religious liberty in churches, schools, the military, and the greater public arena.

Mr. Sasser also will share war stories from the country’s highest-profile religious-liberty litigation, ranging from the ongoing challenges to the Affordable Care Act’s contraception mandate to Salazar v. Buono, the defense of the Mojave Desert Veterans Memorial Cross in the United States Supreme Court.

Please RSVP by October 20.  Seating is limited.

An application for accreditation of this activity has been submitted to the MCLE Committee of the State Bar of Texas and is pending.
