The First Amendment to the Constitution protects the free exercise of religion, but the scope of this right is often hotly disputed. Hiram Sasser is the managing director for strategic litigation at Liberty Institute, the country’s largest legal organization dedicated solely to defending and restoring religious liberty in America.
