The Dallas Chapter of the Federalist Society will host Jack Weiss on Tuesday, February 23, at noon at the Belo Mansion.  He will be discussing First Amendment issues in the conflicts that have recently arisen at colleges across the country over free speech.

Jack Weiss is Chancellor Emeritus and Professor of Law at the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center.  Dean Weiss graduated with honors from Yale and magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, where he was managing editor of the Harvard Law Review. Following graduation, he served as law clerk for U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge John Minor Wisdom and then for Chief Justice Warren E. Burger.  Before becoming Chancellor, Weiss was a partner at the law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and was one of the nation's leading defenders of the rights of a free press (representing, among other media organizations, Dow Jones & Company, the corporate publisher of The Wall Street Journal).  He currently teaches First Amendment law as a visiting professor at the Columbia Law School.

CLE credit will be available.
