Please join the Birmingham chapter of The Federalist Society for a lunch discussion of the federal judicial confirmation process with special guest Rachel Brand of the Wilmer Hale firm in Washington D.C. Prior to joining Wilmer Hale, Rachel was a law clerk to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy and then the Assistant Attorney General for Legal Policy at the U.S. Department of Justice. Rachel managed the Justice Department's role in the selection and confirmation of federal judges at the District, Circuit and Supreme Court level. She was responsible for preparing both Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Alito for their confirmation hearings (and was probably seen by a number of you over the nominees' shoulders during their hearings).
