Please join the Nashville Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society for a special three-part ethics offering featuring topics on marriage, traditional virtues, and manual labor. 

Session I | 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

The Politicization of Ethics

  • Featuring: Nick Barry, Attorney, America First Legal

This session will discuss how other states have (or are considering) disbarring attorneys for certain political activity, what the supposed ethical violations are of said activities, and whether or not TN should recognize those disbarments.

Session II | 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

How Not to Lose Before You Begin: Tips for Staying on the Right Side of the Judge

  • Featuring: Hon. Stephen Vaden, Judge, United States Court of International Trade

Judge Vaden will discuss ethical transgressions he has observed in his courtroom and how attorneys can avoid making similar mistakes in the future. He will also discuss some general tips that attorneys can follow to make sure they are as professional and ethical as possible when appearing before a judge.

Session III | 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Connecting Our Faith to Our Work as Lawyers

  • Featuring: Alex Carver, Attorney, Sherrard Roe Voigt & Harbison

This session will discuss the impact faith has on the legal profession and the role that faith plays in the work of a lawyer.
