Ending DOJ’s China Initiative: Foreign Policy & National Security Consequences

On Wednesday, May 4, 2022, the Orange County Federalist Society is pleased to host Michael Ellis, Visiting Fellow for Law and Technology at The Heritage Foundation, for a luncheon discussion on the Biden Administration’s decision to end DOJ’S China Initiative.

The DOJ launched a “China Initiative” in November 2018 that sought to identify and prosecute trade secret theft, hacking, and economic espionage; protect U.S. critical infrastructure against threats from Chinese foreign direct investment and supply chain compromises; and combat covert efforts to influence the American public and policymakers. In February 2022, the Biden administration announced it would end the initiative. Mr. Ellis will discuss foreign policy and national security consequences of the decision and the benefits of the China Initiative.

To pay by cash or check at the door, please send an RSVP to Tim Kowal at [email protected] and make checks payable to “The Federalist Society.”
