Please join us to hear Institute for Justice Senior Attorney Anthony Sanders discuss protections for economic liberty in state constitutions.
Mr. Sanders will discuss how even if we accept current doctrine on the U.S. Constitution’s (non)protection of economic liberties, state constitutions must be taken seriously as protecting them. The talk will include a discussion of the Texas Supreme Court’s recent ruling in Patel v. Texas Department of Licensing, where the court enforced the Texas Constitution’s protection of the right to earn a living.
