Ward Connerly is founder and chairman of the American Civil Rights Institute, a national not-for-profit organization aimed at educating the public about the need to move beyond race, and specifically, race and gender preferences. He previously served as a member of the UC Board of Regents and chaired the campaign for Proposition 209. Mr. Connerly has gained national attention as an outspoken advocate of equal rights for all Americans, regardless of race, sex, or ethnic background. Connie Rice is co-founder and co-director of the Advancement Project and is a prominent civil rights lawyer who has filed and won numerous class action cases involving police misconduct, race and sex discrimination, and unfair public policy in transportation, probation and public housing. The Advancement Project is a public policy and legal action group that supports organizations working to solve community problems and address racial, class, and other barriers to opportunity.
The cost of the luncheon is $38 if paid in advance and $40 if paid at the door. Public employees, students and law clerks may pay the discounted rate of $15.
