The Los Angeles Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society is pleased to co-sponsor the 8th Annual William French Smith Lecture & Dinner next Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at the Jonathan Club in downtown Los Angeles.  
 
The lecture will feature Pepperdine Law Professor Edward J. Larson, winner of the 1998 Pulitzer Prize in History, as he discusses his recent bestselling book, The Return of George Washington, 1783-1789.  Conventional wisdom has our nation's founder in chief, George Washington, moving almost seamlessly from leading the American Revolution to the presidency. Drawing on his new book, Professor Larson will take us on an informal and entertaining conversation chronicling Washington's unexplored journey from his retirement as commander in chief to becoming president, a job he never wanted.
