Richard Hugh Lumpkin

R. Hugh Lumpkin, born in San Tomé, Venezuela, received his B.A. from Duke University in 1977 and his J.D. from the University of Miami in 1980. He joined the firm in early 1999. He is admitted to the Florida Bar; U.S. District Courts, Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida; U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit; and U.S. Supreme Court. He has also been admitted pro hac in many other courts to service the needs of the firm’s clients.

While Mr. Lumpkin has had an extensive policy-holder insurance coverage trial and appellate practice since 1986, this has been his exclusive focus since joining his present firm. He has written extensively on insurance issues and has appeared as a frequent lecturer for the American Bar Association, and other organizations that provide educational and business opportunities to professionals. His practice consists of representing policyholders in evaluating, settling and litigating insurance claims filed in state or federal court, trial of coverage and extra-contractual claims, as well as appellate practice.
