- In a lawsuit filed against the City of Chicago, the Liberty Justice Center argues that the city's finance department exceeded its authority when it extended the amusement tax to cover internet streaming services. The change was not voted on by the Chicago City Council. The new fee, labeled the "Netflix tax" by opponents, is one of many revenue-generating measures attempted by Mayor Rahm Emanuel's administration to address a budget shortfall.
