Government by Litigation: Are Class Actions Subverting the Political Process?
MR. McCONNELL: My name is Bob McConnell, and I’m the Chairman of the Federalist Society Litigation Practice Group. On behalf of the Society and the practice group, I’m very happy to welcome you all here today. I look forward to our panel discussion today, and to moderate and introduce our panelists is Brian Brooks of O’Melveny and Myer. Brian graduated from Harvard, and Chicago Law School. He’s Co-Chairman of the Federalist Society Subcommittee on Class Actions, and his practice primarily deals with very complex class action litigation against highly regulated industries — banks, insurance companies, and telecommunications companies. Brian will take over from here.
