What Will Become of BEAD?

The Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program is the largest federal broadband spending initiative to date.  This initiative has been characterized as a generational opportunity to close the digital divide but some warn that it carries significant risks, including potential waste and a mismatch between funding and the root causes of the divide.  With new guidance from the Department of Commerce, the program now looks markedly different than it did under the Biden administration.  Join the Federalist Society for an expert panel discussion to explore what these changes mean for consumers and states, what’s likely to happen next, and what role remains for NTIA and Congress as they continue to manage and oversee this $42 billion program.
