After distinguished service as a federal district judge during which he presided over significant anti-terrorism trials, Judge Mukasey was again called to public service. On November 9, 2007 he was sworn in as the 81st Attorney General of the United States. During his tenure as Attorney General, Judge Mukasey oversaw critical matters related to national security and international law.
