On March 11, the Houston Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society will host a lunch presentation by First Court of Appeals Justice Michael Massengale, former president of the Houston Lawyers Chapter and curator of the Texas Constitution History blog, regarding Article 1 of the Texas Constitution, also known as the Texas Bill of Rights. Justice Massengale will review the history of the Texas charter, compare its text to comparable provisions of the United States Constitution, and comment on the continuing relevant of state constitutional rights in light of ever-expanding interpretations of federal constitutional rights.    

Cost: $10 for Federalist Society members and government employees / $20 for non-members
