Please join the Triangle Lawyers Chapter for a presentation by Prof. Rob Luther of the Antonin Scalia at George Mason University, a former Trump White House lawyer who co-managed the judicial selection process during his first term. Prof. Luther will discuss the modern federal judicial selection process under the administrations of George W. Bush through Joe Biden and discuss how President Trump is approaching it in light of the judicial vacancies data and the composition of the U.S. Senate. He will address the latest vacancies, pending nominations, changes to the selection and confirmation process since President Trump returned to office, and potential vacancies on the U.S. Supreme Court. Prof. Luther may also address calls for the impeachment of federal judges, as he recently testified before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee on this topic.
