Cameron Smith serves the Alabama Policy Institute (API) as Vice President and General Counsel. He joined API after working for several years in Washington, D.C., as Counsel in both the House and Senate. In the Senate, he worked for Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) as Legislative Counsel on the Senate Judiciary Committee. He then ran the House Intellectual Property Caucus under Congressman Tom Feeney (R-FL). Most recently in the House of Representatives, Cameron served as Counsel to U.S. Congressman Geoff Davis (R-KY), a member of the House Ways and Means Committee. He also worked heavily on the REINS Act, which was introduced by Congressman Davis in the 112th Congress. Cameron graduated from Washington and Lee University and The University of Alabama School of Law. He is a member of the Tennessee and Alabama bars. He and his family reside in Birmingham, Alabama.
