Please join the Puget Sound Chapter of the Federalist Society for a discussion of recent reforms to the Uniform Code of Military Justice intended to reduce sexual assault in the military. Charles Stimson is the Manager of National Security Law Program and a Senior Legal Fellow at the Heritage Foundation and author of the Heritage Special Report: Sexual Assault in the Military: Understanding the Problem and How to Fix It. A former civilian and military prosecutor, Mr. Stimson served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense and is a military trial judge. Mr. Stimson will discuss the impact of changes to the UCMJ, including Article 32 (preliminary hearings) and Article 60 (commander’s sentence modification).
