The Las Vegas Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society is pleased to host a luncheon presentation by Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt. Attorney General Laxalt will discuss his role as Attorney General, as well as his initiatives for the office. He will outline his top priorities, including protecting the rule of law, curtailing federal overreach and reorganizing the office to more efficiently represent Nevada’s interests. Attorney General Laxalt will also discuss his commitment to working with local law enforcement agencies to lower Nevada’s crime rate and protect its most vulnerable. In this regard, since taking office, he has actively worked to eliminate Nevada’s backlog of more than 7,500 untested sexual assault evidence kits. In September, his office pledged $3.68 million of settlement monies and grants toward eliminating this backlog and ensuring that Nevada takes a more victim-centered approach to justice. Attorney General Laxalt will also discuss his work to provide Nevada’s military service members and veterans with legal representation by creating an Office of Military Legal Assistance, the nation’s first Attorney General-led public-private partnership offering military communities access to pro-bono civil legal services.
