Professor Scott Douglas Gerber of the Ohio Northern University Claude W. Pettit College of Law is the 2002, 2009, 2011, and 2012 winner of the Fowler V. Harper Award for excellence in legal scholarship. In 2008, he was appointed to a two-year term on the Ohio Advisory Committee of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. He was reappointed to a second two-year term in 2010 and to a third two-year term in 2012. StateStats.org named him one of the top law professors in Ohio. He has had eight books published, including First Principles: The Jurisprudence of Clarence Thomas.
