Flat, fair, or fundamental; what is the future of tax reform in the state of Wisconsin? While most dread April 15th, the vast majority believe that some level of taxation is necessary for essential services. As Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes said, “taxes are what we pay for a civilized society.” Beyond this recognition that some taxes are necessary, the differing philosophies on tax policy are as complex as our tax laws themselves. On April 24th, Representative Dale Kooyenga and Robert Kraig of Citizen’s Action of Wisconsin will debate these myriad tax policy philosophies.
