Supervisory Special Agent Tom Petrowski is the Chief Division Counsel to the FBI Dallas Field Office. He has over 30 years operational and legal counsel experience in military special operations and the U.S. intelligence and law enforcement communities.  His most recent prior assignment was as a detailee to the Counterterrorism Center at the CIA in Langley, Virginia, serving as the FBI’s liaison.  In that role, he fostered collaboration between the FBI, CIA, and other entities during numerous highly classified joint operations and higher profile matters, including the Boston bombing and the Benghazi attack. His FBI career has included assignments to a multi-agency street gang task force in the San Diego Division, teaching law at the FBI Academy, serving as the Associate Division Counsel in the Dallas Field Office, and supervising the North Texas Joint Terrorism Task Force in Dallas. His Task Force conducted the Hosam Smadi and Khalid Aldawsari investigations which generated significant media attention.  He deployed twice to Iraq in 2004 and 2005 in support of terrorism matters and the criminal investigation of the Saddam Hussein regime.  Prior to the FBI, SSA Petrowski served as a U.S. Army Special Forces officer, as both an Operator and as a JAG Officer with operational deployments to Africa, the Middle East, Southwest Asia, Central America, and Haiti.
