Do you enjoy bourbon? Have you ever wondered if it is constitutionally permissible to make your own? If so, this event is for you. Join the Chicago Lawyer Chapter to hear Robert Alt, President and CEO of the Buckeye Institute, discuss Ream v. U.S. Dept. of Treasury. This case was filed by the Buckeye Institute on behalf of John Ream to challenge the constitutionality of federal laws that prevent individuals from distilling spirits at home for personal use—under threat of $10,000 in fines and five years in prison. The case was recently argued before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

A bourbon tasting will accompany the discussion to highlight what is at stake.

Featuring:

  • Robert Alt, President and CEO, The Buckeye Institute

Tickets:

Members: $50 | Non-Members: $60 | Students/Young Lawyers (less than 5 yrs out of law school): $35
