Birthright Citizenship - A Panel Discussion

Cleveland Lawyers Chapter

The City Club of Cleveland
850 Euclid Avenue, Second Floor
Cleveland, OH 44115

Speakers:

  • Dr. John Eastman, Henry Salvatori Professor of Law and Community Service and Director of the Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence at Chapman University's Dale E. Fowler School of Law
  • Lee J. Strang, John W. Stoepler Professor of Law & Values at the University of Toledo College of Law

Questions about American immigration policy fill the news and, increasingly, the dockets of our courts. One important issue is whether the Fourteenth Amendment confers U.S. citienzship upon any person born on U.S. soil, regardless of whether the person's parents were citizens or even legally in the country at the time of the birth. Professors Eastman and Strang will outline the case law and arguments on both sides of this contentious constitutional law issue.

We are applying for one hour of Ohio CLE credit for this event.
