A View from Both Sides: The SEC’s Proposed Regulation of Private Fund Sponsors and its Impact on the Industry

New York City Lawyers Chapter, In-House Counsel Network, Simpson Thacher Bartlett LLP

The Securities and Exchange Commission has proposed novel rules for private fund advisers that one Commissioner describes as “sweeping,” and were proposed under novel legal authority.  The panel – which includes the Acting CEO of the Institutional Limited Partners Association (an association representing institutional investors in private funds), and the General Counsel of the American Investment Council (an association comprised of the country’s leading private equity and growth capital firms), will discuss these proposed rules and their impact on the private fund marketplace.

Please join the New York City Lawyers Chapter, in conjunction with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, for an evening reception and program.

Featuring:

  • David Blass, Partner, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP
  • Jennifer Choi, Acting CEO, Institutional Limited Partners Association
  • Rebekah Jurata, General Counsel, American Investment Council
