Brandon James Smith serves as Chief of Staff to Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti. He joined the office in 2019 as Deputy Solicitor General. Prior to coming to Tennessee, He served as a senior policy advisor and counsel to the Governors of Kansas and Kentucky. Brandon previously worked for the Federalist Society, while in D.C., he also directed a legal aid clinic and taught at American University. He graduated from Abilene Christian University, the University of Kansas, and the George Washington University Law School.
