Annemarie McAvoyOn November 30, 2011, the Supreme Court heard oral argument in Sester v. U.S. The question in this case is whether a federal court can order that a federal criminal sentence begin to run after the criminal defendant finished serving a state sentence that that had not yet been imposed by the state court.
