Justice, Alabama Supreme Court
Justice William B. Sellers was appointed by Governor Kay Ivey in May 2017. He was elected to a full term in 2018 and re-elected in 2024. His current term expires in 2031.
Justice Sellers received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hillsdale College in 1985, a Juris Doctorate from the University of Alabama in 1988, and a Masters of Laws in Taxation from New York University in 1989. Justice Sellers practiced law in Montgomery for 28 years. He maintained a general business practice with emphasis on taxation, business organizations and finance. A major part of Justice Sellers's practice involved tax litigation.
Justice Sellers is a member of numerous civic organizations and professional associations. In 2012, he received the President's Award for service to the Alabama Bar Association. In 2013, Governor Robert Bentley appointed Justice Sellers to the Alabama State Council on the Arts. In August 2014, Justice Sellers was elected chairman of the Fair Ballot Commission. He is past president of the Rotary Club of Montgomery, past chairman of the Montgomery Area Business Committee for the Arts, chairman of the River Region United Way Campaign in 2008, and past chairman of the YMCA of Greater Montgomery. Justice Sellers was a member of the Electoral College in 2004, 2008, 2012, and 2016.
Justice Sellers is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Supreme Court of Alabama, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, the United States District Courts for the Middle and Northern Districts of Alabama, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Tax Court. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the Montgomery County Bar Association, and the District of Columbia Bar. Since 2014, he has served as the community liaison with the International Officers School at Maxwell Air Force Base.
Justice Sellers and his wife, Lee, have been married for 37 years. They are members of Trinity Presbyterian Church and have three adult children and two grandchildren.
Vice President and Director of Litigation, EdChoice
Thomas M. Fisher served as a Deputy Attorney General for 22 years and as Indiana’s first Solicitor General from 2005-2023. In that role he handled high profile litigation for the State, defended state statutes against constitutional attack, advised the Attorney General on a range of legal policy issues, and managed the State’s U.S. Supreme Court docket. A two-time recipient of the National Association of Attorneys General Best Brief Award, Fisher has argued five times before the High Court.
His U.S. Supreme Court experience also includes authorship of dozens of cert-stage and merits-stage amicus curiae briefs on a wide range of issues. In addition, Fisher has argued dozens of important and high-profile cases before both the Indiana Supreme Court and the Seventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. Fisher is a Fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers and was recently named a Sagamore of the Wabash by Governor Eric Holcomb.
A native Hoosier, Fisher is a graduate of Wabash College and Indiana University Maurer School of Law, where he serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law.
Senior Advisor, Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program
Lisa Kelly has been with the Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program since its inception, serving as President and Executive Director for 15 years. Prior to joining GOAL, Lisa served as Vice President and CFO of Brand Velocity, Inc., an international IT consulting firm, and Manager of Quality Assurance for Management Science America, Inc., at that time the largest application software company in the world. Lisa also worked for EY in the consulting group and for PwC in the audit group. She earned her accounting degree from the University of Georgia and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Lisa now serves as Senior Advisor for GOAL, continuing her engagement in the strategic direction and operations for the organization.
Shareholder, Maynard Nexsen
Jenny McCain is a Shareholder of Maynard Nexsen and Co-Chair of the firm’s Banking Practice. She also is President of Stonegate Real Estate Investments, LLC, a multi-state commercial real estate company. Ms. McCain is also the Founder, Director, and President (2013-2015) of Scholarships for Kids, Inc.
Ms. McCain provides specialized regulatory and general corporate advice to financial institutions of all sizes, including public and private banks, savings associations, credit unions, insurance companies, and other non-depository financial institutions. Ms. McCain’s clients include many of the nation’s largest banking corporations, insurance companies and credit unions based on asset size, as well as numerous community banks.
In 2010, Ms. McCain led the corporate reorganization/restructuring of a privately owned, $100 million commercial real estate company and has served for the past seven years as its President. Ms. McCain is active in both local and regional philanthropic initiatives. In 2013, Ms. McCain founded Scholarships for Kids, Inc. a nonprofit organization that provides scholarships to low income children throughout the state of Alabama. Ms. McCain actively ran the organization from 2013 until 2015, during which time Scholarships for Kids raised over $18 million, partnered with 36 schools throughout the state, and provided more than 3400 scholarships to kindergarten to 12th grade students in Alabama. A twenty-year veteran of the Federalist Society, Ms. McCain has served in leadership positions with the organization since the early 2000s.
Ms. McCain has earned numerous professional and personal accolades, including recognition by both Chambers USA and America’s Best Lawyers as a Leading Practitioner in the area of Banking and Finance. In 2015, Ms. McCain was selected as a member of the inaugural class of the Presidential Leadership Scholars, a national leadership program created by the George W. Bush, William J. Clinton, George H.W. Bush and Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Libraries.
Ms. McCain is a graduate of the University of Virginia and the University of Texas School of Law. She was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama.
Associate Justice, Supreme Court of Alabama
Justice William G. Parker, Jr. (“Will”) was appointed to the Alabama Supreme Court on November 10, 2025, by Governor Kay Ivey. His appointment continues a career of public service dedicated to upholding the Constitution and preserving the rule of law.
Before joining the Court, Justice Parker served as an attorney in the Office of the Governor, including for nearly six years as General Counsel to the Governor. In this capacity, Justice Parker advised Governor Ivey and her administration on a wide range of issues—from education, economic development, ethics, and elections to procurement, government accountability, regulation, and public safety. By virtue of his position, Justice Parker served on the Alabama Judicial Resources Allocation Commission and the Court Advisory Committee for the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama.
Prior to joining Governor Ivey’s office, Justice Parker worked for nearly ten years as Assistant Attorney General in the Constitutional Defense Division of the Alabama Attorney General’s Office. There, Justice Parker handled cases in state and federal trial and appellate courts defending state policies in areas including court administration, campaign finance, economic policy, education, environmental law, immigration, public employment, public finance, and taxation.
Justice Parker came to the AG’s Office after clerking for the Honorable Ed Carnes of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Earlier in his career, he taught U.S. History at a Montgomery public high school.
Justice Parker graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama School of Law, where he was Senior Articles Editor for the Alabama Law Review and a member of the National Moot Court Team. He earned his undergraduate degree in political science with a concentration in education from Davidson College, where he was Chair of the College Honor Council and President of the College Union Board.
Justice Parker and his wife Karen are the proud parents of two school-aged sons. A seventh-generation Alabamian, Justice Parker is a Trustee for the Eleventh Circuit Historical Society, a member of the Federalist Society, and a member of First Methodist Church. Growing up, Justice Parker was active in Scouting, earning his Eagle, working at Camp Tukabatchee and Philmont Scout Ranch, and serving in 1999 as National Chief of the Order of the Arrow.
