Adam Klein, Director of the Strauss Center for International Security and Law at the University of Texas Law School, will assess the legal arguments made in support of, and against, the U.S.'s recent military operations in the Caribbean and Venezuela. Prof. Klein will discuss both drone strikes against boats allegedly engaged in drug trafficking and the Delta Force operation to arrest Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro. The event will also consider the role and significance of law in policymaking around the use of force.
