The U.S. Supreme Court continues to play a critical role in determining the shape of our laws and the course of our Constitution. In the past term, the Court decided several major cases, including Windsor v. OPM (Defense of Marriage Act) and Perry v. Hollingsworth (Proposition 8), Agency for International Development v. Alliance for Open Society (Free Speech), and Missouri v. McNeely (Fourth Amdt). Moreover, the Court has already accepted cert. on interesting cases for the October 2013 Term, such as Town of Greece v. Galloway (prayer before public meetings). Moreover, the Court will soon decide many pending cert. petitions, including Hobby Lobby Stores v. Sebelius (HHS mandate) and Elmbrook School District v. Doe (Establishment Clause). Our expert panel of scholars will address both the merits of the individual cases and what they tell us about the Court’s jurisprudence overall.
