The REINS Act

The Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act, sponsored by Todd Young, was passed by the House of Representatives on August 2nd, 2013. The Senate version of the bill is sponsored by Rand Paul. This legislation would require Congress to approve every new major rule proposed by the Executive Branch, which has an annual economic impact of $100 million or more, before it can be enforced.
